Are you inadvertently wearing baggy clothes? Are you unzipping your top layers and letting them flap around when warm? Or is it that your clothes for whatever reason, just don’t quite work for you on the bike? Maybe you should opt for that slightly smaller jersey? You could even consider changing your clothing to specifically faster items, designed to be faster than not only standard clothes, but also faster than your skin, even!
Find yourself gasping for breath at the top of climbs? Having sprinted up the fast section at the bottom and rolled slowly over the top, only to freewheel down the other side? This isn’t fast, nor is it efficient! Build your momentum on descents, then slowly allow yourself to ease into a more sustainable effort through the middle section of a climb. Then, as you start to crest the climb, push a little harder on the pedals over the top and into the descent down the other side. This decreases the amount of dead time, where you transition from slow climbing/recovery speed.
