Mercedes-Benz is the most successful luxury car manufacturer in India and they offer a wide range of cars for customers. In light of this success, they kicked off 2019 with the launch of the exciting V class. An 'elevated sedan' with all the space one could possibly ever need. The V class takes advantage of a newly passed piece of legislation that allows for up to 2500 cars to be imported without having to go through domestic homologation, this allows for international manufacturers to test new vehicles and whether we will accept them at a much lower cost than before.
The V Class, however, has to make do with some slightly older bits, an older engine and gearbox, a 2.0-litre diesel mated to the 7G Tronic but it does offer a suite of luxury features. Starting from INR 68 lacs , the question to then ask - is India ready for a luxury van? Glen finds out.
